Once again, the photograph that inspired Debi was taken by Kate's multi-talented brother, John Carder Bush.
Listen to a few covers I have recorded, here:

"The Kick Inside" (EMI 1978): includes the legendary hit single "Wuthering Heights", the moving ballad "The man with the child in his
eyes" and the controversial title track that tells about an incestuous brother/sister relationship. (Tracklist: Moving/The saxophone song/Strange
phenomena/Kite/The man with the child in his eyes/Wuthering heights/James and the cold gun/Feel it/Oh to be in love/L'amour looks something like you/Them
heavy people/Room for the life/The kick inside)
"Lionheart" (EMI 1978): featuring
the hit single "Wow", the dramatic and theatrical "Hammer Horror" and the lusciously seductive "In the warm room". (Tracklist:
Symphony in blue/In search of Peter Pan/Wow/Don't push your foot on the heartbrake/Oh England my lionheart/Fullhouse/In the warm room/Kashka from
Baghdad/Coffee homeground/Hammer horror)
"Never for Ever" (EMI 1980): the #1
album that includes the hit singles "Babooshka", "Breathing" and "Army dreamers", and the hauntingly beautiful "The infant
kiss". (Tracklist: Babooshka/Delius (Song of Summer)/Blow away (for Bill)/All we ever look for/Egypt/The wedding list/Violin/The infant kiss/Night scented
stock/Army dreamers/Breathing)
"The Dreaming" (EMI 1982): the extremely powerful and innovative self-produced album containing the hit
single "Sat in your lap", the Aboriginal title track, the uplifting Irish atmosphere of "Night of the swallow" and the classy
"Houdini". (Tracklist: Sat in your lap/There goes a tenner/Pull out the pin/Suspended in gaffa/Leave it open/The Dreaming/Night of the swallow/All
the love/Houdini/Get out of my house)
"Hounds of Love" (EMI 1985): probably Kate's most popular record. It includes the smashing hit singles
"Running up that hill (A deal with God)", "Cloudbusting", "The big sky" and "Hounds of Love". The B-side contains a
suite of 7 songs called "The Ninth Wave" whose title was inspired by a Tennyson poem. (Tracklist: Running up that hill (A deal with God)/Hounds of
love/The big sky/Mother stands for comfort/Cloudbusting/And dream of sheep/Under ice/Waking the witch/Watching you without me/Jig of life/Hello earth/The
morning fog)
"The Whole Story" (EMI 1986): another huge international success. Kate's first anthology, containing
some of her hit singles. It includes a new vocal version of "Wuthering Heights" and a previously unreleased track called "Experiment IV".
(Tracklist: Wuthering heights (new vocal)/Cloudbusting/The man with the child in his eyes/Breathing/Wow/Hounds of love/Running up that hill (A deal with
God)/Army dreamers/Sat in your lap/Experiment IV/The Dreaming/Babooshka)
"The Sensual World" (EMI 1989): another fascinating album featuring Kate's first collaboration with
Bulgarian folk group "The Trio Bulgarka". The album includes the title track, inspired by Molly Bloom's monologue in the "Ulysses" by
James Joyce, the rhythm of "Love and anger" and the heartfelt, deeply emotional vocal and piano performance of "This woman's work".
(Tracklist: The sensual world/Love and anger/The fog/Reaching out/Heads we're dancing/Deeper understanding/Between a man and a woman/Never be
mine/Rocket's tail/This woman's work/Walk straight down the middle)
"The Red Shoes" (EMI 1993): the album features the uptempo, guitar-driven madness of
"Rubberband girl", the melancholic sadness of "And so is love", and the emotionally charged masterpiece "Moments of pleasure".
(Tracklist: Rubberband girl/And so is love/Eat the music/Moments of pleasure/The song of Solomon/Lily/The red shoes/Top of the city/Constellation of the
heart/Big stripey lie/Why should I love you?/You're the one)
"Aerial" (EMI 2005): after 12 years of silence, Kate releases the first double album of her long career. "Aerial" is a masterpiece of
atmospheric and almost classical arrangements, extremely delicate and intimate vocal performances, incredibly well constructed tunes. "King of the
mountain" is the only single taken from the album. (Tracklist: Disc one: King of the mountain/Pi/Bertie/Mrs. Bartolozzi/How to be invisible/Joanni/A coral
room. Disc two: Prelude/Prologue/An architect's dream/The painter's link/Sunset/Aerial tal/Somewhere in
between/Nocturn/Aerial)
